HGH Supplementation

Men and women used to leading active lives don’t want to slow down as they get older. And there is no reason you have to. Rejuvime Medical offers medically supervised human growth hormone (HGH) supplements in Baton Rouge and Metairie, LA, that can be part of your anti-aging routine.

Whether you’re from the nearby city of New Orleans or more distant towns like Shreveport, LA, or Jackson or Hattiesburg, MS, we’re here to help you regain an active, vibrant life.

What Is HGH?

Human growth hormone, also known by the name somatotropin, is a protein made up of 191 amino acids. It occurs naturally in the bodies of both men and women and is responsible for triggering cell growth and can help injuries heal faster. As we age, however, HGH levels dip, and it can take longer to bounce back not just from an injury, but also after a tough workout. Even though some women worry that HGH supplements will result in unwanted increased muscle size, HGH injections can actually reverse some of the signs and symptoms of menopause.

How Does HGH Work?

When HGH circulates in your bloodstream, it attaches to specific receptor cells to communicate with those cells. In essence, it “tells” the cell a message, which triggers growth.

The benefits of HGH are not proven, but people taking HGH typically see these effects:

  • More muscle
  • Less fat
  • Greater endurance
  • Better sleep
  • Nicer skin tone*

How Rejuvime Medical Uses HGH

Even though there is a very expensive form of HGH that is synthesized in the lab, this is NOT a bioidentical hormone. Therefore, it will behave differently and perform different actions than bioidentical HGH will perform. Your own HGH is the real thing and is much safer and more effective.

That’s why at Rejuvime Medical, we administer a product called sermorelin, also called growth hormone-releasing factor. Sermorelin stimulates your pituitary gland to build natural HGH using your own cells’ machinery and then release it into your system.

If our doctors determine that HGH would be a good strategy for your anti-aging routine, we will be careful to evaluate your specific needs and recommend a dose and frequency that is optimum for you.*

Frequently Asked Questions

What is sermorelin acetate?

Sermorelin (GHRH) is a bioidentical hormone genetically engineered to stimulate the secretion of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) from the hypothalamus, a gland adjacent to the pituitary gland. GHRH is a peptide that contains the first 29 amino acids of our own growth hormone (GH). These 29 amino acids are the active amino acids of GHRH. It is GHRH that stimulates the pituitary glands to release GH. As we get older, the hormones produced by the anterior pituitary are depleted. It has now been shown that GHRH can restore the GH-RNA to a youthful level, causing elevation of levels of IGF-1.**

How is sermorelin administered?

Sermorelin comes in a multi-dosed, injectable vial. Each vial contains a powder disc that contains 15 mcg (15,000 micrograms) of lyophilized sermorelin acetate. The vial is vacuum-sealed by the pharmacy for your protection and the preservation of the hormone peptide. Each sermorelin vial also comes with a bottle of bacteriostatic water as a diluent. The bacteriostatic water is mixed with sermorelin to provide a solution for injection. Administration and storage instructions will be provided with your prescription.

How do I inject sermorelin?

You should inject sermorelin into the body fat just below the skin’s surface. You’ll use a very small needle similar to what a person with diabetes uses to inject insulin. Injections are initially prescribed daily, with the frequency decreasing over time.

When should I inject sermorelin?

The best time to take sermorelin is prior to bedtime. Growth hormone is primarily released during sleep and most beneficial to the body’s recovery and repair during this time. Sermorelin helps promote sleep and can, therefore, make you tired if taken during the day.

How do you measure sermorelin’s effectiveness?

Due to the pulsatile nature of both endogenous HGH and IGF-1, a single blood draw is not sufficient for accurate measurement. Most physicians who prescribe sermorelin and similar peptides measure effectiveness in patients through symptomology (the study of your symptoms—see benefits), physical appearance, and more frequent blood analysis.

How will I know it’s working?

Patients usually report improved sleep within the first few weeks of therapy. Of course, only patients who had trouble sleeping in the first place will notice this development. Still, most patients notice an increase in the quality of their sleep. Increased energy levels and improved mood are other signs the supplements are working. After 3 to 6 months of therapy, patients start reporting noticeable or significant body changes, such as increased muscle tone and a leaner physique. Over time, patients will also notice a significant improvement in skin tone and health.**

How long does it take to work?

Just like most peptide hormones, sermorelin usually has a “loading” period of 3 to 6 months before patients notice the full effects. Once injected, both sermorelin and rHGH are eliminated from the body very quickly, and therefore, need to be injected frequently. Its actions are dependent on a chain reaction of biological processes, which result in elevated and sustained HGH and growth factors. It takes some time for levels to become optimal and initiate the benefits we are seeking to achieve.***

What happens if I stop taking sermorelin?

Sermorelin has an ongoing effect in which optimal HGH levels can be sustained long after the last injection. Just like synthetic HGH, sermorelin initially must be injected every day. Unlike synthetic HGH, once optimal levels are sustained with sermorelin, injection frequencies can be decreased or stopped altogether. Once results are achieved, patients are then switched to a maintenance protocol, eliminating the need for ongoing daily injections and reducing the total cost of therapy!*
