Injecting fillers takes only a few minutes. The process begins with cleaning the treatment area. Some patients opt to have a topical anesthetic applied about 30 minutes before the treatment to numb the skin. Our injectors take a conservative approach to ensure natural-looking results. They may gently massage the area to help the filler spread.

You can return immediately to your normal activities, although you may experience some redness and swelling at the injection sites for a few hours. You can minimize post-injection bruising and swelling by following the instructions we’ll provide, which includes:

Avoiding alcohol and blood-thinning, over-the-counter medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil), and Aleve. You should stop taking these a week before the appointment.
Stop taking supplements, including St. John’s wort, Gingko biloba, primrose oil, garlic, ginseng, and Vitamin E.
Start taking arnica a couple of days before the injections to reduce bruising.
